Makita UC4030A Commercial-Grade 16-Inch 15 amp Electric Chain Saw with Tool-Less Blade And Chain Adjustments Reviews
I cut about a cord and a half of Lodge Pole Pine, Walnut, Oak and Ponderosa Pine. It is running great and runs extremely quiet for a chainsaw. It feels solid when you pick it up is light and very compact. It also comes with a hard plastic chain guard and is very easy to adjust the chain tension. I really appreciate the plastic clip that connects the cords together so you don't have to tie them or have the saw unplug on you as you use it. As noted in another review, the motor cuts out if you begin to overload it ( bind the chain). br /br /Last year I went through 3 Craftsman 18" chainsaws, the motor stopped working on all 3. That was cutting less than a cord and a half of logs. I have no complaint against Sears however because it was under the 90 day warranty so I got all my money back. It was also bulkier and louder than the Makita. br /br /I prefer an electric to avoid maintenance and fuel storage of a gas saw. I also use it inside my garage, sometimes at night. I don't have to worry about fumes and the neighbors wont hear it as long as the doors are closed. This is also a great saw for pruning trees.

excellent tool - Russell G. Danish - grand forks b.c.
i use this saw for intricate log work and i love it. Its not to noisey doesn't vibrate and the soft start feature is nice.when i first got it i jammed it into a larch log to see what it would do, it cuts just like my ms 170 stihl but with more torque until it shut off on overload. You really have to push it in to over load it.Nice saw, im really happy i bought it!
